Bella Wild is a contemporary British artist . Wild trained at the London Institute and at the Royal College of Art, London, and works predominantly from her studio in the UK. Wild focusses on the power of the written word inspired by the evolution of communication throughout classical civilization. The rich interplay and tapestry of language, art and religious iconography have communicated our shared history as have classical literature, astronomy, mythology and legends that transcend time informing cultural beliefs, rituals and traditions across the ages.
Wild's works are luxurious, richly textured with burnished gold leaf reminiscent of engraved bronzes and religious icons, lettering carved into stone and faded decorative surfaces.
Wild often quotes the literature of Shakespear and the classical philosophers Socrates and Plato, whose teachings were often inscribed on monuments at the entrance to great temples as a spiritual code.
Sacred geometry, textile motifs and religious iconography subtly feature in Wild's collectable works which are at the same time classical and highly contemporary.
Manor are delighted to exclusively represent Bella Wild in the UK.
